Frequently asked questions
No. You have two options to establish your tax residency in Latvia: stay 183 days per year, or simply have a registered address there year-round. You can live wherever you want while benefiting from the Latvian tax framework.
Yes, absolutely. Your Latvian IBAN is a standard European IBAN, recognized by all banks in the SEPA area (36 countries). Your clients pay you exactly as they would a French or German supplier. SEPA transfers arrive within a few hours, sometimes in real time with SEPA Instant.
It depends on the bank chosen. Some of our partners offer multi-currency accounts (EUR, USD, GBP) with competitive exchange rates. If your business involves clients outside the eurozone, we will direct you to the most suitable solution. The majority of our clients invoice in euros, which is handled natively.
Yes. All our banking partners offer complete online access: transfers, balance checks, statement downloads, card management. Neobanks also offer a modern mobile app with real-time notifications. You do not need to be physically in Latvia to manage your account day to day.
With a US LLC, you do not get a European IBAN: receiving or sending SEPA transfers is impossible. US banks like Mercury regularly close accounts of non-residents without notice. You have no EU protection on your funds, and European payment processors (Stripe, Mollie) often cause problems. With a Latvian SIA and a bank account in Latvia, you get a standard European IBAN, an ECB-regulated bank, and the stability to focus on your business.
Georgia is attractive for taxes, but Georgian bank accounts have practical issues: no SEPA zone, slow and expensive international transfers, and limited banking recognition in Europe. With a Latvian SIA, you get a European IBAN recognized by all commercial partners, payment processors, and banks across the continent.
A US LLC (Wyoming, Delaware) does not give you a European IBAN, and associated accounts (Mercury, Relay) are regularly frozen. Georgia offers an attractive tax framework but is outside the EU, which complicates SEPA payments and access to European financial services. With a Latvian SIA, you get a real European bank account that is stable and recognized.
No. Your European IBAN works exactly like a French, German, or Dutch account. Your clients pay you via a standard SEPA transfer, the same one they use for any European supplier. The transfer arrives within a few hours. No visible difference for them.
